Target Audience:
Clinical and academic dermatologists, residents, fellows, and mid-level providers and other allied healthcare providers and students with a special interest in dermatology.

Meeting Description:
The Annual Meeting of the Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery is a three-day program designed to provide practicing dermatologists, dermatopathologists, dermatologic surgeons and allied healthcare providers with a comprehensive update on the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions related to medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. The activity is provided via a live medium format, using didactic, case based and interactive instructional methods. The activity also features patient case studies, live patient demos and opioids course.

Desired Outcomes for this Activity:
The goal of this activity is to provide dermatologists with the most up-to-date, evidence-based data that can be translated into clinical practice to optimize therapeutic and overall outcomes for their patients.

This comprehensive activity provides learners with opportunities to:
  • Review and apply basic knowledge and skills in medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, pediatric dermatology, and dermatopathology.
  • Update their knowledge about recent advances in the diagnosis, management and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes, as well as new aesthetic agents and innovative techniques.
  • Assess the relationship of evidence‐based diagnostic approaches and therapies with new dermatologic treatment developments.
  • Self assess current practice management skills and develop strategies for improving these skills.
  • Develop new skills to improve their everyday practice of dermatology.
  • Strategically position self to advocate, when called upon, for issues affecting quality of care, managed care reform (patient protection), access to care, reimbursement, effective/efficient practice, Medicare reform, prescription drug benefits, access to therapies, and funding of basic and clinical research, and collaborate with organizations such as the MAG, AAD, NIH, etc.
